Trauma Treatment

Connecticut-based and virtual trauma therapy

I hold expertise working with individuals with a range of traumatic experiences, including:

  • Childhood abuse

  • Intimate partner violence/domestic violence

  • Sexual assault

  • Identity-based harassment and violence

  • Military combat

  • Life-threatening accidents

  • Complicated bereavement

The experience of trauma is life-changing and profoundly impacts how we see ourselves, others, and the future. For interpersonal violence in particular, therapeutic relationships are both daunting and critically important to recovery.

PTSD treatment that works

There are two side pieces of artwork with similar patterns, and a circular mirror with a yellow frame above the sofa. A coffee table with magazines in the foreground.

Trauma therapy for PTSD

These trauma-focused psychotherapies have strong evidence for reducing symptoms of PTSD (e.g., nightmares, hypervigilence, intrusive thoughts). A recent study found that 65-85% of people who complete PTSD treatment no longer meet diagnostic criteria for PTSD.

Before starting trauma-focused therapy, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your post-trauma symptoms and traumatic experiences throughout your life. Treatment is typically conducted weekly over 8-12 weeks.
